“AIDS Scare”

Andre Picard and Health Canada appear to have created an AIDS epidemic among the elderly from thin air.

AIDS cases among those 50 and older declined from a peak of 202 cases in 1995 to only 34 in 1999 [according to Health Canada statistics], a reduction of more than 30% every year! Picard does not mention these real numbers, and probably is referring to an increase in the percentage of cases in this group which have grown from 9.7% of total Canadian AIDS cases in 1991 to 13.5% in 1999. There is probably much more danger from the side effects of viagra in elderly Canadians than from AIDS!
